Custom Orthotics

Custom Orthotics are shoe inserts made to your individual biomechanical needs.  They cannot be prescribed unless a thorough biomechanical assessment has been done by one of our qualified Podiatrists. The orthotics are designed to re-position your foot and lower limb to its correct position, so that it performs at its optimum.  Some conditions and pain occur due to improper alignment, if this is the case, we will recommend a foot orthotic. Improper alignment can occur from an injury, genetic predispositions, poor footwear or walking on hard man made surfaces in shoes when we are designed to walk on undulating terrain in bare feet.  We use state of the art Orthotech 3D scanning technology to ensure accurate and reproducible results. We do not use out dated plaster of paris or foam boxes. The average person will walk 185,000 km in their life time, that is 4 times around the earth. You need to look after your feet, your bodies foundations, just like you would the foundations of your house or the tyres on your car. Your foot is a complex structure comprising of 28 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons. 25% of the bones in your body are in your feet. No two feet are the same and therefore custom orthotics are always the best solution if you need them.
